Trade in Senegal

Senegal was the world’s 104th largest exporter of goods and 100th largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $5,202 and $833 million USD respectively. Senegal’s top export category was agricultural products, followed by manufactures, and fuels and mining products. In 2020, Senegal’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to Mali, Switzerland and India, with trade representing 60 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Senegal’s import values were $9,699 and $2,991 million USD respectively in 2021. Senegal’s top import category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products and agricultural products. Leading import partners were France, China and Netherlands. Senegal is part of 2 different Regional Trade Agreements, including Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).
