Rwanda was the world’s 130th largest exporter of goods and 119th largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $1,531 and $347 million USD respectively. Rwanda’s top export category was agricultural products, followed by manufactures, and fuels and mining products. In 2019, Rwanda’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United Arab Emirates and Uganda, with trade representing 55.13 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Rwanda’s import values were $2,895 and $612 million USD respectively in 2021. Rwanda’s top import category was manufactures, followed by agricultural products and fuels and mining products. Leading import partners were China, India and Kenya. Rwanda is part of 2 different Regional Trade Agreements, such as Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). |
