Trade in Montenegro

Montenegro was the world’s 143rd largest exporter of goods and 91st largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $515 and $1,792 million USD respectively. Montenegro’s top export category was fuels and mining products, followed by manufactures, and agricultural products. In 2020, Montenegro’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to Serbia, Slovenia and Hungary, with trade representing 87.01 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Montenegro’s import values were $2,956 and $742 million USD respectively in 2021. Montenegro’s top import category was manufactures, followed by agricultural products and fuels and mining products. Leading import partners were Serbia, China and Germany. Montenegro is part of 5 different Regional Trade Agreements, such as Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) 2006, EFTA – Montenegro and EU – Montenegro.
