Mauritania was the world’s 128th largest exporter of goods and 174th largest exporter of commercial services in 2025. Export values were $4499 and $250 million USD respectively. Mauritania’s top export category was fuels and mining products, followed by agricultural products, and manufactures. In 2023, Mauritania’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to Canada, China and Algeria, with trade representing 93.6 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Mauritania is the world’s 137th largest importer of goods and 156th largest importer of commercial services. Import values were $6043 and $837 million USD respectively in 2025. Mauritania’s top import category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products and agricultural products.  Leading import partners were Spain, Belgium and China.
