Malaysia was the world’s 24th largest exporter of goods and 41st largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $299.4 and $20.8 billion USD respectively. Malaysia’s top export category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products, and agricultural products. In 2020, Malaysia’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to China, Singapore and the United States, with trade representing 116.83 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Malaysia’s import values were $238.2 and $35.3 billion USD respectively in 2021. Malaysia’s top import category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products and agricultural products. Leading import partners were China, Singapore and the United States. Malaysia is part of 16 different Regional Trade Agreements, such as ASEAN – Australia – New Zealand, ASEAN – China.
