Indonesia was the world’s 28th largest exporter of goods and 50th largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $231.5 and $13.6 million USD respectively. Indonesia’s top export category was manufactures, followed by agricultural products, and fuels and mining products. In 2020, Indonesia’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to China, the United States and Japan, with trade representing 32.98 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Indonesia’s import values were $196.2 and $28.7 million USD respectively in 2021. Indonesia’s top import category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products and agricultural products. Leading import partners were China, Singapore and Japan. Indonesia is part of 13 different Regional Trade Agreements, such as ASEAN – Australia – New Zealand, ASEAN – China.

Through the IFC's Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP) bank network, local financial institutions can establish working partnerships with a vast number of major international banks in the Program that can broaden access to finance and reduce cash collateral requirements.
