Austria was the world’s 31st largest exporter of goods and 24th largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $203 and $69.4 billion USD respectively. Austria’s top export category was manufactures, followed by agricultural products, and fuels and mining products. In 2020, Austria’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to Germany, the United States and Italy, with trade representing 100.22 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Austria is the world’s 28th largest importer of goods and 22nd largest importer of commercial services. Import values were $219 and $66.8 billion USD respectively in 2021. Austria’s top import category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products and agricultural products. Leading import partners were Germany, China and Italy. Austria is a member of the European Union, which is part of 45 different Regional Trade Agreements, including with Central America, Pacific States and Eastern and Southern Africa States.
