Myanmar was the world’s 75th largest exporter of goods and 88th largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were $15.2 and $2.1 billion USD respectively. Myanmar’s top export category was manufactures, followed by agricultural products, and fuels and mining products. In 2020, Myanmar’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to China, Thailand and Japan, with trade representing 55.1 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Myanmar’s import values were $14.3 and $1.8 billion USD respectively in 2021. Myanmar’s top import category was manufactures, followed by fuels and mining products and agricultural products. Leading import partners were China, Singapore and Thailand. Myanmar is part of 8 different Regional Trade Agreements, such as ASEAN – Australia – New Zealand, ASEAN – China.
