Trade in Iraq

Iraq was the world’s 42nd largest exporter of goods and 76th largest exporter of commercial services in 2021. Export values were 86.3 and 4.8 billion USD respectively. Iraq’s top export category was fuels and mining products, followed by agricultural products, and manufactures. In 2014, Iraq’s main export destination markets for goods and services trade were to the United Arab Emirates, Syrian Arab Republic and Turkey, with trade representing 56.65 per cent of GDP. In terms of imports, Iraq is the world’s 50th largest importer of goods and 77th largest importer of commercial services. Import values were $66.2 and $4.7 billion USD respectively in 2021. Iraq’s top import category was manufactures, followed by agricultural products and fuels and mining products.  Leading import partners were China, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Korea , Republic of. Iraq is part of 2 different Regional Trade Agreements, such as Global System of Trade Preferences among Developing Countries (GSTP), Pan-Arab Free Trade Area (PAFTA).
